Senior Colton Thoma won in the 189-pound division to lead the Circle Thunderbirds to a third place finish in their home wrestling invitational last weekend.
Thoma beat Tyler Lowe of Eureka in the final to claim his home tournament.
Circle teammate Michael Dubus finished second in the 215-pound division, losing to Sione Siale of Chaparral in the final. Other T-Birds who placed in the tournament include Kristian Farner (third place at 171), Derek McGovern (fifth place at 112), Bryce Fortune (sixth place at 140), and Austin McAvoy (sixth at 145).
Circle finished third with 127.5 points as a team. Smoky Valley won the meet with 167.5, followed by Buhler at 147. Council Grove (123) and Clearwater (104) closed out the top five in the team standings. Bluestem finished 14th (51) and Flinthills 21st (25) in the team standings.
Bluestem had two wrestlers place in the tournament as Kyle Hubbard (fourth at 119) and Dakota Barnhart (sixth at 160); while Flinthills had one place (Jesse Brown finished third at 125).
