Errors again were the downfall for the El Dorado Post 81 American Legion baseball team Monday night as Kingman was able to take advantage of those miscues for a doubleheader sweep Monday night at McDonald Stadium.

Kingman won the first game 12-3, and completed the sweep with a 22-4 victory in the nightcap. Both games were called after five innings due to the run rules.

The setbacks make the currently losing streak for Post 81 at 10 games; with El Dorado able to get early leads in both games, but  unable to hold them.

Gage Roberts hit a sacrifice fly for El Dorado (1-11) in the first inning of the opener, but Kingman tied the game in the second, scored four more in the third to take the lead and cemented the lead with seven runs in the fourth inning.

El Dorado got two runs back in the bottom of the fourth on a RBI double by Milton Good and a RBI single by Garrett Armstrong. Thomas Joyce was the losing pitcher in the opener.

Post 81 scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning of the nightcap on a two-run home run by Ben Helfrich and a RBI single by Alex Brown.

Kingman scored six runs in the top of the second inning on only one hit. El Dorado walked four batters and misplayed three runs in the inning.

Brown recorded a RBI in the bottom of the second when he got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, but El Dorado had one player thrown out at third base and another trying to score on a passed ball to end the threat.

Post 81 squandered scoring chances in the third and fourth innings, stranding the bases loaded before getting any runs across.

Kingman led 7-4 going into the top of the fifth inning before sending 21 batters to the plate, scoring 15 runs in the inning with the help of five El Dorado errors.

Stuart Kelley was the losing pitcher for Post 81 in the nightcap.

El Dorado will next face Nickerson in another American Legion doubleheader Thursday night at McDonald Stadium. The first game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
