The 7th grade girls EMS Cats were dropped on their home court on Monday night.
The 7th grade EMS A-Team lost 34-23.

“We are not shooting enough to stay with other teams. Our defense is good because we keep our opponents from scoring a lead we can’t catch up to if we shot more times,” said El Dorado coach Les Limon.

The A-team only hit 6-field goals compared to Rose Hill’s 16 for the game.

“It may not be the amount of shots as it is the shot selection, which in some cases is poor. We hurry to shoot,” said Limon.

Leading the Cats’ offense was Mikala Ruff with 11 points for El Dorado. Sydney Harper and Colbi Phillips each dropped in 4 points each for the Cats. Braylon Daniels added 3 points and Cadeyn Reinhardt rounded out the scoring for the Cats with a point.

“Ruff had a nice night scoring 11-points followed by Harper and Phillips each having 4-points,” said Limon.

The EMS B-Team suffered the same fate as the A-Team, falling to the Rockets 19-11

Once again the Rockets just made more buckets than the Cats with El Dorado converting 5, meanwhile Rose Hill had 8 makes on the night.

Leading the Cats was Amber Henley with 6 points. Josie Cheever and Caitlynn Hamilton each
contributed with 2 points a piece for El Dorado. Abbi Manke added a point to close out the Cats’ scoring.

“Amber Henley for the B-team had a big night both on defense and offense (scoring 6-points). Jolie Howland did not score points but had a tremendous game keeping her opponent from scoring.  She played an aggressive game and added a lot to our defensive game,” said Limon.
