Prairie Sky Casino submitted a proposal to the Kansas Lottery Commission on Tuesday afternoon after Equity Ventures announced its gaming partner.

Sally Lunsford, spokeswoman for the Kansas Lottery, confirmed that Prairie Sky Casino -- under the applicant South Central Gaming Partners L.C. -- turned in their proposal. Principals are named as Mike Ensign, Peter Simon and Double Down Development L.C., Lunsford said.

They are proposing "three sites off of Exit 33 in Mulvane and/or Sumner County," Lunsford said. Exact locations are not available at this time.

The other individuals comprising the Equity Ventures group are longtime Topeka businesspeople with extensive experience in general contracting, real estate development and financial management throughout the Midwest. Included in the group are Bruce Christenson, Mike McPherson, Bruce McPherson, James Walker and Jeff Ungerer.

Equity Ventures spokeswoman Nancy Sietz said the phased development has one primary goal: to open as quickly as possible to provide both jobs and tax revenue to Sumner and Sedgwick counties and the state of Kansas.
