Officers and investigators of the El Dorado Police Department and the Butler County Sheriff's department executed a series of arrest warrants on over two dozen individuals culminating over a year's work for local drug investigators.
Local residents in and near El Dorado were arrested on numerous drug related complaints on warrants issued by the Butler County Attorney's office.
On Thursday evening, 13 people were taken into custody without incident in the combined operation conducted by the El Dorado Police Department's Special Operations Group and Butler County Sheriff. Booked on charges alleging a variety of drug related charges, those arrested were taken to the Butler County Corrections pending first appearances. Other arrests are still pending from this series of investigations.
Investigators seized more than 38 pounds of marijuana; half a pound of methamphetamine, cocaine and other related manufacturing and distribution equipment and contraband as well as vehicles and cash in the series of arrests. Those arrested will be formerly arraigned in Butler County District court beginning today.
